Nearly There......
I have been wondering all along what to put in the left hand corner and I am really happy with the tree and the shading of it and I think it brightens and balances the picture now. Tomorrow I will finish the harbour wall, add a rowing boat and do a little more tweaking and then hopefully it will be off its new home at GallerySalesOnline for a trial run to see if it sells. I am going to start a series of these paintings to follow on from this one....happy days! Whoever the owner ends up being will enjoy this picture with double the pleasure as the light on the instruments in the evening makes it look like another painting from the daytime view.

Brass Band Progress
The brass band painting is progressing nicely now, in fact I have done even more since this photo but you can see how it has developed since the last update on this blog. I have two more paintings on the go as well, one to use for selling as a greeting card and another for my portfolio. I have touched up the bands instruments with gold paint which really catches the light and done more of the harbour wall and boat. I have also drawn in the remaining figures in the painting, hopefully this picture should be completed in the next week or so.

Nuggleton Brass Band and Nuggleton Bay
Not the best photo as I have just realised that the end house on the right is missing but it lets you see how this painting will develop. The Nuggleton Brass Band are marching along Harbour Road, but in this painting the houses have been upgraded and there will be a resident at an open door watching the band. I will be doing the usual brick harbour wall and boat and as always Mollie, Liam, Mitsy and Dusty (and my dad this time as he loves brass bands) will be watching as well.
The little painting of Nuggleton Bay is coming along also and we have a lighthouse making its debut in this one and a house for sale.
More up to date photos on my Nuggleton facebook page and I will put another update on here as soon as possible. I have already tweaked Nuggleton Bay to change the back doors, finish the washing and have started to add details to the gardens as I want them to be busy with lots of things to see.

New Harbour Road Painting
Sorry, not a good photo, I didn't realise it was off centre. Anyway, this is the start of a new Harbour Road painting which will have a marching brass band all along the promenade instead of the blue van, and one little old lady is stood at her front door watching. Of course, Liam and Mollie and Mitsy and Dusty will be in the middle of all the action that is for sure!
I hope this will be suitable for my 2013 portfolio which I am working hard at. I am happy with the colours so far and it feels good, more progression photos soon.

Carnival Day
I just have to add lots of people to this picture, which is really a draft for a larger version, but I quite like it so I will mount and frame it to sell at the annual Churchtown Art Club Exhibition as I don't have any small Nuggleton By The Sea pictures with this much detail.
I like the helter skelter and the marching band, I would change the layout for the larger painting.
